Original Dravidians, First Farmers?

Keep a lookout for an article to be published in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, in which geneticists from the National Institute of Biologicals (Ministry of Health and Family Welfare) present findings from their analysis of nearly 1,000 Indian men representing 77 castes and tribes.

Nearly all the men - and by extension nearly all Indian men regardless of caste or tribe - apparently are descended from native South Asians who developed agriculture about 10,000 years ago and migrated north.
